“Education is a very powerful transformative force provided we transform what we teach, how we teach and why we teach.”
-Dr. Urvashi Sahni, Founder
We believe in a healthy and involved school-teacher-parent-child relationship so that through collaboration, shared goals, open communication, and active engagement, parents and teachers create a nurturing, safe, and empowering environment that promotes both the academic and personal growth of the child. We proudly address each other as partners in parenting!
OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PARENTS
- We expect Parents to see that their children attend school punctually, regularly and come neatly dressed in the correct school uniform. In the event of any absence they are requested to notify the school, on the child's return, giving reasons for the child's absence. If the child is absent on medical grounds, a medical certificate must be produced.
- We shall arrange regular meetings and orientations in order to keep in close touch with Parents. Parents are expected to co-operate by attending these events faithfully. They can make appointments with their child's class teacher, should they wish to meet her at other times.
- Parents are also expected to donate a few hours of their time every term to their child's class. They will be invited on a specific day to share their knowledge and special skill with all the children in their child's class.
- Parents are expected to support the school's non-competitive policy, by fostering the same caring and collaborative spirit at home as well.
- Parents are expected to pay their fees regularly every quarter as per the fee schedule.
OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM OURSELVES
- We expect our teachers to treat children with respect, courtesy and care at all times and to refrain from imposing any harsh form of discipline, including corporal punishment.
- We expect our teachers to build a strong mutually supportive and trusting relationship with their students, their parents and their colleagues.
- We keep our class size small in order to enable our teachers to give individual attention to each child and to foster her growth at her own pace.
- Our teachers will endeavour to make learning an enjoyable and non-burdensome process. Homework shall be kept to a minimum, especially in the junior classes and shall be given only when considered necessary and useful.
- Our teachers are expected not to accept gifts on any occasion from parents.
- Our teachers are not allowed to take extra tuition classes for any child studying in our school without explicit written permission from the Principal.
- We expect our teachers to work in a spirit of cooperation with our parents, to be responsive to parent's concerns regarding their children and to invite parental involvement frequently.
